What We Do

We collect, analyze and track data. But we are not just about numbers, trends and patterns. We hope to never lose sight of who the data represents - the children of Boston.

Boston EQUIP tracks the status of early care and education in Boston. By providing policy makers and the community with objective data and rigorous analysis about the supply, demand and benchmarks of quality in early care and education across all settings, Boston EQUIP seeks to enrich local and state discussions concerning ways to increase the healthy development, well being and school readiness of all Boston's young children.

Launched in 1994, the Boston Early Education Quality Improvement Project (Boston EQUIP) is a project of Associated Early Care and Education with a broad goal and mission - to collaborate with members of the Boston early education community to systematically evaluate, set goals for, and improve upon the quality of early childhood programs.

2009 Community Profiles

Boston EQUIP is currently in the process of analyzing the latest round of community profile surveys.  EQUIP has partnered with Child Care Choices of Boston to reach out to 100% of licensed center-based and Head Start programs, family child care homes and public schools in Boston.
